Event on marine environmental education held in Cuba

Havana, April 17 (RHC) - The 26th Children's Scientific Conference today entered its second day at the National Aquarium of Cuba (ANC), a conclave aimed at promoting marine environmental education at an early age in Cuba.

Under the motto: "For a better protection of our seas and coasts" the appointment is held in person and virtually.

In statements to the press, ANC director María de los Ángeles Serrano announced that 421 works were presented, and 306 were approved for their defense. Among the topics to be discussed are marine biodiversity, the sea and its resources, protected areas and endangered species, effects of climate change in coastal areas and their resilience, among other topics.

Serrano stated that each presentation went through a rigorous review from the technical and scientific point of view, and recalled that in the first edition of the conclave only eight papers were presented.

The event has inclusiveness among its characteristics, hence the presence of children from special education.

According to Serrano, the 26th Children's Scientific Day also pursues personal fulfillment at an early age, linked to marine diversity, hence the purpose of concatenating the National Aquarium of Cuba with families, school and the community. (Source: Prensa Latina)
