Havana, August 27 (RHC)-- “Hugo Chávez: My First Life,” a biographic interview with the Venezuelan leader by French-Spanish journalist Ignacio Ramonet, was the best-selling book this summer in Cuba, according to the Cuban Book Institute (ICL).

Poet Karen Leyva, promotion director of the Cuban Book Institute, confirmed the success of the sales of the volume, launched in Cuba by Ramonet.

Some 65,000 more books have been sold this summer season compared to 2013, as a result of more diversity of offers and sales management in the libraries, Leyva told the press.

The Cuban edition of the book, in which the former director of Le Monde Diplomatic summarized almost three years and 200 hours of conversations with Chávez, was released in April 2014, and Ramonet launched the book in Havana on July 28th, the same day Cuba celebrated the 60th anniversary of Hugo Chávez' birthday.
