International Seminar on Journalism and Tourism

Havana, Jun 21 (RHC) The 16th International Seminar on Journalism and Tourism winds up its theoretical sessions in this capital on Wednesday, with the participants from 10 countries agreeing on successful debates and contacts with their colleagues.

Elements of the new economic trends in Cuba, such as an increase in private companies and their tourism nexus, will be presented on the last day.

The lecture “Digital Transformation in Cuba, from e-commerce and tourism services distribution systems to Tourism 4.0” by Miguel Jorge Menéndez, general director of Guajiritos S.R.L., is on the agenda.

The panel “Challenges of the journalistic integration,” led by representatives from Colombia and Uruguay, is also included.

The event, usually organized at the Havana José Martí International Institute of Journalism (IIPJM, in Spanish) from June 19 to 23, will include tours of the capital’s sites of interest and a visit to the Varadero beach resort.

The seminar joins the celebrations for the 40th anniversary of the IIPJM on October 17. (Source: Prensa Latina)
