Governments of Venezuela and Cuba reaffirmed ties of friendship

Havana, June 23 (RHC) The governments of Venezuela and Cuba reaffirmed in Caracas the ties of friendship that unite both revolutions.

On its website, the United Socialist Party of Venezuela reviewed a meeting held the day before between its first vice president, Diosdado Cabello, and the Cuban ambassador in Caracas, Dagoberto Rodríguez.

The text indicated that they accompanied the Venezuelan partisan leader, his wife and deputy Marleny Contreras, and members of the national leadership of the so-called red awning in Venezuela, such as Nicolás Ernesto Maduro Guerra, Pedro Infante, Iris Varela, Erika Farías, José Alejandro Terán and Fidel Ernesto Vasquez.

For his part, the ambassador from Havana was seconded by his wife Marisabel de Miguel Fernández; the Minister Counselor Luis García, among other officials of the diplomatic mission.

The note highlighted the historical brotherhood between the two countries and recalled the speech of the Cuban National Hero José Martí on October 28, 1893, when he honored the Liberated Simón Bolívar before the Spanish-American literary society by asking: “Where will Bolívar go? To the respect of the world, and to the tenderness of the Americans!

It mentioned the campaigns in support of the rebels in the Sierra Maestra in the 1950s with the slogan of a bolivar for the Revolution, and that it had its rebirth on December 14, 1994 when the young commander Hugo Chávez (1954-2013) was received in Havana by the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.

The text expressed that "brothers and with the firmness of both peoples" and in an indissoluble union, both nations have faced the onslaught of imperialism and its lackeys who see in these revolutions a danger to their hegemonic interests.

This history of unity, highlighted the PSUV, continues to grow with the strength of two peoples who decided to be free and under the leadership of President Nicolás Maduro and his Cuban counterpart, Miguel Díaz-Canel, continue to pave the way for Patria Grande as indicated Fidel and Chávez.
