Governmental visit to Guantanamo and Santiago de Cuba

Havana, June 29 (RHC)- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel today joins the government's current visit to the province of Guantánamo, and will participate tomorrow, Friday, in a similar tour of Santiago de Cuba.

As announced on Twitter by the president, he will visit educational institutions and neighborhoods in transformation, and will exchange with agricultural producers, as part of the government activity, which aims to evaluate the progress of the main economic and social programs.

"We are on our way to Guantánamo to join the governmental visit. Tomorrow we will also be in Santiago de Cuba. We will visit several municipalities, exchange with agricultural producers, visit educational institutions and neighborhoods in transformation. See you there," he wrote.

The government visit to the province of Guantánamo, which began on Wednesday, is the fourth to that eastern Cuban province, after those made in November 2018 and 2019 and February 2022.

On the first day, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero, at the head of the representation of the Council of Ministers, was at the desalination plant of Punta de Maisí, and exchanged with residents of the community of the same name and Los Arados.

Likewise, in a meeting with the Municipal Administration Council, he emphasized the need to increase food production, carry out a survey of idle lands and hand them over as soon as possible, exchange in the communities to identify problems, and follow up on the main dissatisfactions of the population.
