Cuba Needs Strong Socialist Enterprises

Guantanamo, September 5 (RHC) -– Cuban Vice President Salvador Valdes Mesa said in eastern Guantanamo that the country needs to have a strong state and socialist entrepreneurial sector marked by high efficiency in order to achieve economic advancement.

The member of the Political Bureau of Cuba’s Communist Party toured a group of industrial plants in the eastern province where he exchanged views with the workers and their leaders.

Salvador Valdes also visited an important investment project underway in the agricultural sector in the province, where he was accompanied by First Communist Party Secretary Denny Legra.

Valdes, who used to lead the Confederation of Cuban Workers, has been visiting different economic entities over the past few days throughout the country. During his visits to the work centers, the Cuban vice president has underscored the importance of the workers’ active participation with actions, ideas and proposals in the implementation of the Cuban economic model.
