Cuba congratulates Trinidad and Tobago for National Holiday
Havana, Aug 31 (RHC) The Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs congratulated this Thursday through X Trinidad and Tobago, on the occasion of its National Holiday.
In its message, the Foreign Ministry ratified the will to continue consolidating the ties of friendship and bilateral cooperation.
Both Caribbean nations established diplomatic ties on December 8, 1972, and since then they have maintained ties under the principle of mutual respect and collaboration.
Trinidad and Tobago rejects the blockade policy of the United States government against Cuba, which for more than six decades has hindered the economic and social development of the largest island in the Antilles.
The Trinidadian nation declared its independence on August 31, 1962, with the People's National Movement, founded by who would be the nation's first leader, Eric Williams, after breaking away from Great Britain and consolidating itself as an independent country. (Source: PL)
