Cuba strengthens ties with Algeria, Saudi Arabia and COP28 leaders

Havana, Sep 20 (RHC) The Cuban president, Miguel Díaz-Canel, strengthened his country's ties this Wednesday in meetings with his Algerian counterpart, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, as well as representatives of Saudi Arabia and the presidency of the 28th Conference of the Parties ( COP28).

As part of his bilateral agenda in the context of the 78th General Assembly of the United Nations, the head of State met with the designated head of COP28, Sultan Al Jaber, and the Minister of Tourism of Saudi Arabia, Ahmed bin Aqeel Alkhateeb.

Díaz-Canel and Tebboune continued the exchanges held in Algiers last year during the visit to the African country.

He also exchanged with Ahmed bin Aqeel Alkhateeb, Minister of Tourism of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and head of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Fund for Development.

The Cuban head of state also held a meeting with the designated head of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Dubai.

On this day, the Cuban representative ratified the will to contribute to global efforts against climate change despite the obstacles imposed by the United States blockade, by speaking at the Climate Ambition Summit.

The president described the upcoming event as a premier decision-making event on climate matters. (Source: PL)
