Cuba will host Varadero 2023 Aerosports Festival
Havana, Nov 8 (RHC) The Cuban province of Matanzas will host from November 17 to 19 the third edition of the Varadero 2023 Aerosports Festival under the auspices of the Cuban Aviation Club.
As stated in a press conference by the president of the Club and Hero of the Republic, René González, the event will have the participation of four teams, namely MGM Muthu, Guajirito, Araelec and the Information Technology Company belonging to Biocubafarma, who will compete against each other in skydiving, free flight, model airplanes and paramotoring. Each team is made up of 12 athletes who are distributed in the four disciplines with the particularity that each skydiving team will have the presence of a woman.
González explained that the four participating teams respond to the name of the companies that sponsor the event in search of promoting the practice of aerial sports in Cuba, generating income for the country and turning the contest into a popular festival.
Based in the surroundings of the old Varadero airport located in the community of Santa Marta, the competition days of the Festival will take place starting on the 18th at 9:00 a.m. local time, and will conclude the 19th at 4:00 p.m.
The president of the club expressed that the hope is for the competition to become a traditional event that allows the presentation at the national and foreign level of aerial activities and its connection with the tourism sphere with the purpose of attracting competitors from other nations.
