New contracts will bring vaccines and medicines from Cuba to Vietnam
Havana, Nov 18 (RHC) Vaccines for humans and advanced drugs for cancer treatment produced in Cuba are currently part of two supply contracts signed by Vietnam’s Duc Minh Medical Joint Stock Company (Almedic) with Cuba’s Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology and Center for Molecular Immunology.
CIMAher (a monoclonal antibody to treat head and neck, pancreatic and esophageal cancer) and the CIMVAx EGF (for treatment of lung cancer) are also included in the contracts, which are part of the cooperation and trade plan between Almedic and its partners in 2024.
Cuban ambassador Orlando Hernández underlined that by expanding collaboration, the aim is not only to bring benefits to the consumers of this nation, but also to motivate Cuban companies to make efforts to launch increasingly better products.
For his part, Chairman of the Board of Directors of AMV Medical Group, Nguyen Binh Minh, expressed his confidence that, despite the difficult economic context, cooperation between the two partners will increasingly develop.
Nguyen confirmed that AMV is committed to continuing to accompany and grow with Cuban partners in 2024 and the years to come.
In these two decades, the Duc Minh Medical Joint Stock Company has maintained close alliances with Cuban biotechnology centers to register for circulation and introduce high-quality vaccines and biological and treatment products at reasonable prices that enter the markets of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.
In addition, it cooperates with Dalat Pasteur Vaccine Company Limited to produce a stage of Cuban vaccines in Vietnam, and coordinates the sending of Vietnamese technicians and managers to biology centers and advanced laboratories in Cuba for short-term studies and training, as well as to bring Cuban experts to Vietnam to provide advice and training.
