The Presidency of the group assumed by Cuba receives the reports of the analyses carried out during the 59th Session of the Subsidiary Bodies for Scientific and Technological Advice and the Subsidiary Body for Implementation, among other meetings in view of the meeting.

On the subject, the general director of Press, Communication and Image of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, Juan Antonio Fernández, pointed out that this is a novel initiative proposed by Havana.

The Cuban executive added that the meeting, led by President Miguel Díaz-Canel, will allow the negotiating bloc to coordinate positions, agree on ideas and have concrete proposals to assert the aspirations and demands of the countries of the South with the problems that occupy this COP28.

For his part, the director of International Relations of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment of Cuba, Ulises Fernández, informed the press that the Caribbean nation brings results, commitment and willingness to contribute to the global effort so that this event means a change in the way to face global challenges.

He pointed out that the Antillean country has a robust public policy and governmental plans to face climate change, as is the case of the Task Life that evidences the good relationship between science and politics.

He considered that this example is very valid because of the comprehensiveness of the effort and because it involves the whole society and sectors.
