Havana, December 12 (RHC) -- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel received Tuesday the secretary of the Political Bureau for International Relations of the Angolan People's Liberation Movement -MPLA-, Manuel Domingos Augusto.

At the meeting, the parties stressed the importance of the Communist Party of Cuba and the MPLA working together to deepen the exchange and cooperation between the two governments and peoples, the Cuban leader said in his profile on the social network X.

The Angolan partisan leader is carrying out a work agenda in Cuba that includes meetings with Cuban leaders.

The day before, he met with Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez, with whom he valued the high level of historical ties and brotherhood, and agreed on the will to strengthen them in all areas.

During the day, the visitor also talked with the Secretary of Organization of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), Roberto Morales, who recalled the visits of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, to the African nation.

On the occasion, Domingos Augusto condemned the blockade imposed by the United States on the Antillean island and assured that this "is increasingly focused on hardening the lives of the Cuban people".

As evidence of the will of both parties to consolidate and advance relations, an exchange and cooperation agreement was signed between the PCC and the MPLA, to strengthen party relations in areas such as the formation and training of cadres and bilateral cooperation in the economic sphere.
