The Contact point between the Government of Colombia and ELN was developed after the culmination of the 6th Cycle of the Roundtable of Dialogues

 

Havana, March 1 (RHC) The Contact Point of the Colombian Government and the National Liberation Army (ELN) concluded in Havana today after functioning as a facilitating mechanism for the coordination for the implementation of what was agreed at the Dialogue Table.

As detailed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Caribbean nation, the Contact Point was developed after the culmination of the Sixth Cycle of the Roundtable of Dialogues held from January 22 to February 6, 2024.

This Friday, the members of the ELN Dialogues Delegation who were still on the island left Cuba.

Recently, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez recognized the efforts of the delegations to resolve the problems faced by the Dialogue Table.

The parties agreed this Monday to continue with the activities provided for in the agreements, and will carry out an evaluation of the efforts and commitments during the seventh cycle, which will be held in Venezuela between April 8 and 22.

During the sixth cycle in Havana, the Government of Colombia and the ELN announced the extension of the bilateral, national and temporary ceasefire for the next 180 days. They also announced the Army's commitment to unilaterally and temporarily suspend economic withholdings. (Source: PL)
