Cuban president Miguel Díaz-Canel and Barbadian Prime Minister met in Kingstown, in the context of the 8th CELAC Summit

Havana, March 1 (RHC) Cuban president Miguel Díaz-Canel held a meeting this Friday with the Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Mottley, in the context of the 8th Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), which meets in Kingstown, in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

Díaz-Canel conveyed to Mottley his country's interest in advancing the commitments reached during his official visit to that Caribbean nation in 2022. For her part, the Barbadian prime minister ratified the willingness to strengthen cooperation ties for the benefit of both countries, according to Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez on social network X.

At the summit, which commemorates the 10 years of the proclamation of the region as a Zone of Peace, the Cuban head of state reaffirmed the island’s responsibility for strengthening peace and unity in Latin America and the Caribbean, and called to overcome differences with dialogue and cooperation.

He assured that supporting peace is defending the right of each people to freely choose their political model, and their own path towards economic and social development.  (Source: PL)
