Havana, March 3 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel today highlighted World Wildlife Day and stressed the opportunity to celebrate the beauty and variety of Cuba's flora and fauna.
In his profile on the social network X, the president called for raising awareness about the benefits it brings and the need to combat crimes against the environment.
He also noted that with the entry into force of the Law of the System of Natural Resources and Environment and a strong National System of Protected Areas, Cuba is focused on determining other area-based conservation measures, a global trend for the protection of Wildlife.
The celebration, proclaimed in 2013 by the United Nations, recognizes the unique functions of flora and fauna and their contributions to people and the planet.
