Cuba receives new PAHO and WHO representative
Havana, March 8 (RHC) The Minister of Public Health, José Ángel Portal, received the researcher and professor Mario Cruz, who took office as the new representative of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and World Health Organization (WHO) in Cuba.
Cruz thanked the trust and support during the transfer process, particularly to the government and medical authorities of the island. He praised the Cuban Health System and ratified the commitment to move forward together so that the representation of both organizations in the island is a respectful work space at the service of the Cuban people.
For his part, Portal conveyed special recognition to the outgoing representative Gerardo de Cosío, and highlighted that this support in the case of Cuba is essential to design comprehensive strategies and actions to promote and care for people. (Source: PL)
