Governments of Cuba and Egypt will strengthen relations in health

 

Havana, March 9 (RHC) Cuba and Egypt will strengthen health relations after the signing this Friday of important work agreements, during the official visit to the island of the Egyptian Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar.

Accompanied by the Cuban head of the sector, José Angel Portal, the visitor announced an initiative with one of his country’s pharmaceutical medical companies, belonging to the Acdima Company, which will help patients in Cuba with insulin, and is the first example of an Egyptian Arab African entity entering the medicine supply chain in the island.

Ghaffar addressed the moment of collaboration as a crucial step in ties with the Caribbean archipelago, and stated that the project means a new chapter in the relationship with Cuba.

In turn, Portal explained to the press that the alliances with Egypt in the field of health will allow to expand and strengthen strategies in scientific and service matters with the pharmaceutical industry and in particular with the Regulatory Agency for Medicines, Devices and Medical Equipment.

During the signing of the agreements, the Egyptian ambassador to Cuba, Maher El Adawy, stated that it is another manifestation of the good relations between the two countries.

He highlighted the meetings and exchanges held in recent years between medical authorities from Cuba and Egypt, both in Cairo and Havana, and the main initiatives that in this regard are currently being consolidated to benefit the health of its inhabitants. (Source: PL)
