Official campaign of Cuba as a tourist destination presented in India

Havana, April 20 (RHC) The Cuban embassy in India launched the Cuba Única tourism campaign before more than 40 representatives of travel agencies, airlines, businessmen, as well as print and digital media.

The presentation of the island as an ideal destination for leisure took place in an interactive session with the participation of the head of sales in India of Meliá Hotels International, Tonia Sehan, the third secretary Malena Rojas, and other members of the Cuban mission in the South Asian nation.

The chargé d'affaires A.I. Abel Aballe spoke about the particularities of the Caribbean nation that make it unique for its natural beauty, the security of the country, as well as the joy and warmth of its people.

Aballe also mentioned Cuba's potential for foreign investment for the development of tourism and other key spheres, and mentioned his country's portfolio of business opportunities.

Likewise, he invited those present to participate in the FitCuba 2024 International Tourism Fair, the most important professional event in the sector that will take place from May 1 to 5 in Jardines del Rey, an archipelago off the northern coast of the provinces of Ciego de Ávila and Camagüey.

The diplomat assured that Cuba has taken firm steps to promote Indian tourism. Evidence of this was the participation of a Cuban delegation to the OTM 2024 Travel Fair, held in February in Mumbai, where the island received the award for New Most Promising Destination.

Aballe pointed out that initiatives have been carried out to promote alliances with tour operators, travel and advertising agencies for the promotion and marketing of the island as a destination.

Subsequently, the head of sales in India for Meliá Hotels International, Tonia Sehan, gave details about the prestigious hotel chain and its products in Cuba, with emphasis on the Meliá Trinidad Peninsula, designed for people over 18 years of age with a high level of services. (Source: PL)
