Havana, April 30 (RHC) -- Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, reiterated this Monday to Ernesto Samper, former president of Colombia from 1994 to 1998, the island's complete support for peace in Colombia.
In a sustained dialogue, the Cuban president also recognized the efforts of his interlocutor in promoting regional integration, as expressed in his account on social network X.
Ernesto Samper, who also served as Secretary General of the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR), between 2014 and 2017, participates in the II International Congress on the imbalances of the world, the urgency of peace and development and the need for a New Order International Economic Forum that takes place for two days at the National Capitol, headquarters of the Cuban Parliament.
As part of his agenda on the Caribbean island - where he arrived last Saturday - the former Colombian president also met with a relevant group of Cuban experts, at the headquarters of the National Association of Economists and Accountants of Cuba (ANEC). .
