Havana, October 8 (RHC) –- For the first time, the U.S. cultural project known as Up with People will visit the Cuban cities of Havana and Santa Clara as part of an annual tour of the Americas and Europe.
Lisbeth Ruiz and Pedro Pablo Cruz, the only two Cubans with the project, told reporters that they have composed a song for their “debut on the island during an agenda that includes the renowned song Guantanamera.”
The Up with People project is made up of over 80 youths from 15 countries and it will begin performances here on October 15th.
However, Cruz said that along with the concerts they are very interested in the social experience that the project allows its members to have, since they will be in direct contact with the communities.
Over the past 50 years, the Up with People project has toured over 60 nations with 22,000 members of 96 different nationalities.
