Cuba expresses solidarity with Colombian Vice President

Havana, July 11 (RHC) -- Cuba's President Miguel Díaz-Canel today expressed his solidarity with Colombia's Vice President Francia Márquez in the wake of another attack against her.

On the social network X, the Head of State pointed out that these cowardly acts are a threat to peace.

Through this platform, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez, also expressed his rejection of the attack against Márquez and stressed that Colombia deserves peace.

The Colombian Vice President confirmed the previous day that her security detail was attacked by gun shots in Timba, Cauca, in the southwest of the country.

Marquez assured that the attack occurred shortly after she left the municipality of Suarez, Cauca, where she is from.

"We have nothing to regret, but I cannot fail to express my great concern for Cauca and the constant tension that my people experience every day," she said.

She called on the criminal groups to "silence the guns, allow Cauca to live in peace and allow the program of the University in your territory to move forward. (Source: Prensa Latina)
