San Salvador, October 10 (RHC) -- Salvadorian Foreign Minister Hugo Martínez and Cuban ambassador to El Salvador Iliana Fonseca signed on Thursday a cooperation agreement for the training of diplomatic personnel from both nations.

The agreement promotes academic relations between El Salvador's Higher Institute for Diplomatic Training and Cuba's Higher Institute of Foreign Relations “Raúl Roa García.”

The Salvadorian minister highlighted that the agreement would have a positive impact on the countries' diplomats and those who are still in training.

He also added that since the creation of the Institute in El Salvador in 2011, Cuba was one of the first countries to respond to our call to establish strategic alliances with countries which have had a broad academic experience in this area.

We also hope to promote the exchange of students, professors, lecturers and academic researchers.

Martínez thanked the ambassador for her contribution to the realization of this initiative, as these exchanges will positively impact bilateral relations between Cuba and El Salvador.
