Díaz-Canel visits several Sancti Spíritus sites
Havana, Jul 25 (RHC) Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and President of the Republic, today led a tour of several works of economic and social importance in the province of Sancti Spiritus, site of the national celebrations for July 26.
Accompanied by Manuel Marrero Cruz, member of the Political Bureau and Prime Minister, Deivy Pérez Martín, member of the Central Committee and First Secretary of the PCC in the area, and Alexis Lorente Jiménez, Governor, the President began his tour at the Hotel Zaza, emblematic of this region, which is in the midst of a deep repair and has been gradually reopening its services since Thursday.
Due to its structural deterioration, workers from several sectors and provinces have been working for a month to restore the rooms, the swimming pool, the lobby bar, the disco, the Media Luna cafeteria at the entrance and other areas; meanwhile, it is expected that the first rooms will be opened on August 15.
Laura Mármol Hernández, director of the establishment, which has been closed for several years, assured that the hotel will have 124 rooms.
The hotel, located a few kilometers from the city of San Juan, is 80 percent repaired. (Source: ACN)
