Cuba Rejects Israeli Siege of UN Agency in Palestine
Havana, July 28 (RHC) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez has rejected the Israeli parliament's intention to declare the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) a terrorist organization.
In a message published on the social network X, the Foreign Minister highlighted the role of UNRWA in providing humanitarian aid to the victims of Israeli crimes.
Likewise, Rodriguez asserted that the Zionist regime is "trying to perpetuate the unjustified genocide against the people of Palestine" with this measure.
According to press reports, the Israeli parliament approved in its first reading three bills aimed at designating UNRWA as a "terrorist organization" and banning its activities in the occupied territories.
The set of laws, which will enter into force after passing the second and third readings, prosecutes the structure of the United Nations Organization (UN) for alleged links with the political and military movement Hamas, which has governed the Gaza Strip since 2007. (Source: Prensa Latina)
