Cuba demands respect for the peace and sovereignty of Venezuela

Havana, Aug. 20(RHC) As part of a day for peace and against fascism, the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Cuba held an act of support for the victory of President Nicolas Maduro and rejection of the violence promoted by the right wing and US imperialism.

Venezuelan Ambassador Orlando Maneiro denounced the different phases of the destabilization plan designed by the so-called Democratic Unity Platform, which groups the right wing.

The diplomat recalled the cyber-attacks against the electoral system and condemned the intentions of the extreme right-wing opposition, also rejecting the legal recourse of President Maduro before the Supreme Court of Justice.

While the enemies of Chavismo insist on provoking a state of turmoil and chaos in Venezuela, the Bolivarian Revolution is a reference of progress, economic growth, security and peace, he stressed.

In an act of solidarity with the Venezuelan people defending the electoral triumph of Nicolás Maduro, Graciela Ramírez, coordinator of the International Committee for Peace, Justice and Dignity of Peoples, condemned the perverse game of the ultra-right in its eagerness to sweep away Chavismo.

Abel Prieto, president of the Casa de las Américas, denounced the conspiracy of the international right wing in its campaign against the Bolivarian Revolution, which today is led by Maduro, with attachment to the legacy of Commander Hugo Chávez.

Other speakers, such as the Nicaraguan ambassador to Cuba, Guisel Socorrro, and Aleida Guevara, daughter of Che, reaffirmed their support for the Bolivarian process and the cessation of interference in Venezuela.
