Havana, August 24 (RHC / Red Web)-- The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel expressed his thanks to those who have been concerned about his health when they saw his right arm in a sling.

On his X profile, the Cuban leader also recognized the excellent work of the medical team that resolved the severe discomfort he had in his shoulder.  On that social network he explained that his right arm was momentarily immobilized.  “The left arm works fully, like the rest of the body,” Díaz-Canel explained.

In the following line, and to conclude his message, he used a very Cuban phrase: “Handsome and strong” for the country, which denotes his optimism and vitality to continue working with determination alongside his people, for the Revolution.

On Friday, the Cuban head of State attended the awarding of the Haydée Santamaría medal to the outstanding African intellectual, Wole Soyinka, Nobel Prize for Literature 1986, at Casa de las Américas.

Later, he held a meeting with the Nigerian writer to whom he said: “Your visit has great significance.  It is the visit of a brother who has always been in battle for just causes.”
