Havana, September 7 (RHC) --The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel, presided over the extraordinary plenary sessions of that organization in Pinar del Río and Artemisa on Friday, where he stressed the importance of remaining united in the face of adversity.

The Cuban president proposed a matrix of comprehensive teamwork to face the obstacles imposed on the Revolution by the ironclad economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States.  He also called for banishing bureaucracy and the slowness of processes, for waging an offensive for national production, mainly of food, and for strengthening control mechanisms in the territorial economy.

Díaz-Canel pointed out the urgency of increasing control over rising prices and illicit economic activities, “which requires systematic confrontation of crime and illegalities,” he said.

Accompanied by the secretary of organization of the national party body, Roberto Morales Ojeda, he examined in both territories the progress of the government program to correct distortions and relaunch the economy in 2024, a priority objective for the nation.

Morales Ojeda explained that the country's leadership will evaluate the economic and social results in these party structures, after visiting 88 municipalities.

In these spaces, the PCC militants pointed out the need to constantly monitor national policies such as the banking of financial operations, the fight against tax evasion and the fiscal deficit of the territories, as well as other economic problems.   (Source: Prensa Latina)
