Theoretical event begins as part of the 15th Havana Biennial

Havana, Nov 18 (RHC) The 15th Havana Biennial opens today at the National Museum of Fine Arts with the theoretical event The integration of knowledge: A look beyond art, featuring experts from various countries.

The event will provide an opportunity for reflection on topics that address specific issues related to science, philosophy, society, cultural production, and education, drawing on their popular roots, beyond the artistic and academic spheres.

Considering the process of decolonization in thought and education, it will examine the role of science in the creation of knowledge and the advancement of innovative practices beyond the boundaries of cultural centers.

Furthermore, this analysis encompasses liberatory, racial, and gender-based processes, as well as discussion of the Caribbean as a developing cartography, challenging the dominant powers.

The 15th Havana Biennial will run until February 2025, showcasing the contemporary art of over 300 Cuban and international artists under the theme Shared Horizons. (Source: Prensa Latina)
