U.S. trade unionists for removing Cuba from terrorist list
Havana, Nov 21 (RHC) The trade unionists in the United States have launched an urgent campaign to demand that President Joe Biden remove Cuba from the arbitrary list of state sponsors of terrorism, which he currently maintains.
In a national call via Zoom, Chris Bender, leader of Building Relations with Cuban Labor, warned that there is only two months left to encourage Biden to fulfill his promises and reverse the anti-Cuban actions of the Trump era.
Mark Friedman, a member of the Local 1484 of the International Association of Machinists and an activist with the Los Angeles Committee Hands Off Cuba, wrote that the majority of Americans, as well as the rest of the world, want an end to this inhumane treatment of the Cuban people.
The trade unionists urged the Democrat president to reverse the harmful restrictions imposed by the administration of his predecessor, Donald Trump, who will soon return to the White House.
The message suggested that Biden restore diplomatic progress, alleviate the suffering of ordinary Cubans, and create opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation between the United States and Cuba.
The letter stated that by removing Cuba from the terrorism list and reversing the Trump-era restrictions, the U.S. government can pave the way for a more stable and humane relationship, as well as provide the Cuban people with a meaningful path to recovery and resilience after several natural disasters.
