Cuban First Vice President Receives OPCW General Director

Havana, October 22 (RHC) -- Cuban First Vice President Miguel Diaz-Canel held official talks on Tuesday with the General Director of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), Ahmed Üzümcü, who is paying a working visit to the Caribbean nation.

Diaz-Canel and Üzümcü talked about the good state of ties between the OPCW and Cuba, while reiterating the common willingness to continue strengthening them.

According to local media, both officials highlighted the carrying out in Havana of a Regional Course on Medical Aspects for Assistance and Protection against Chemical Weapons for Latin America and Caribbean States, from October 20th to 23rd.

They also talked about other issues of interest related to the promotion of exchange of chemical substances and scientific information with peaceful aims.
