Havana, December 18 (RHC) -- The leader of the Cuban Revolution, Raul Castro Ruz, called on the deputies of the National Assembly of People's Power (Parliament) on Wednesday to solve problems with unity.

"With our fists raised we will solve the problems together," Raul emphasized when briefly speaking in the Fourth Ordinary Session of Parliament, after listening to debates on core issues.

The deputies called for maintaining the defense of the country and increasing the fight against crime, corruption and trafficking of illicit substances, during the analysis of compliance with the Government projections implemented a year ago to correct distortions and boost the economy.

The fourth ordinary session of parliament, in its 10th Legislature, will continue until December 20 after two days of discussions in permanent committees.

The National Assembly of People's Power is the supreme body of State power, it represents and expresses the sovereign will of the people and is the only one with constituent and legislative power in the Republic.
