Cuban deputies analyze implementation of children's policy

Havana, December 19 (RHC) -- The National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba (Parliament) is analyzing today, Thursday, progress in the implementation of the comprehensive care policy for children, adolescents and youth, approved one year ago.

On the second day of debates of the Fourth Ordinary Session of Parliament, Deputy Prime Minister Eduardo Martínez, will update the legislators on the implementation of an action plan related to the norm.

The parliamentary agenda also includes the presentation by the Government of the Artemisa province of a report on the recovery of the territory after the passage of Hurricane Rafael, which caused considerable damage to infrastructure and crops.

Likewise, the Minister of Energy and Mines, Vicente de la O Levi, will inform the deputies on the country's energy strategy.

In this regard, the Cuban president recently reported that the State budget for 2025 will prioritize the recovery of the national electric energy system.

During the permanent commissions, which met prior to the Assembly, the head of State announced that in 2026 Cuba will have greater stability in the electric energy system; more than 20 percent of the electric generation will be with renewable sources, which is approximately the goal foreseen in the economic and social development plan for 2030.

"There are two investment projects in photovoltaic generation of more than a thousand megawatts each, with 100 megawatts of accumulation, which will give as a first result two parks in the first quarter of next year, generating more than 40 megawatts," he said.

The day before, on Wednesday, the deputies received an update on the progress of the implementation of the Government's projections to correct distortions and boost the economy, as well as the State budget for 2025 and the objectives and goals of the Economy in the next year.
