This is the seventh time since taking office that the Cuban president has visited Venezuela

Havana, Jan 10 (RHC) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel will attend this Friday the Swearing-in Ceremony of the Constitutional President, Nicolás Maduro Moros, legitimately re-elected on July 28.

Díaz-Canel was received at the Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía by Gabriela Jiménez, the Vice President for Science, Technology, Education, and Health; and by Dagoberto Rodríguez Barrera, the Cuban Ambassador to Venezuela.

The Cuban head of state is accompanied by Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, and the head of the International Relations department of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party, Emilio Lozada.

This is the seventh time since taking office that the Cuban president has visited Venezuela, where he has carried out official programs, completed work schedules, and participated in the meetings of the Sao Paulo Forum and the summits of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America — the Peoples' Trade Treaty.

Six years ago, on January 10, he was present at the inauguration of Maduro, who had secured his first electoral victory in April 2013, following the passing of Commander Hugo Chávez Frías.

This Friday, Nicolás Maduro will be inaugurated as the constitutional president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, in front of the legislative branch and the people, for the third time in a row.

The inauguration, which will take place at the Federal Legislative Palace, home of the National Assembly, will signal the start of the new presidential term, which will last until 2031.
