Havana, February 1 (RHC)-- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez has rejected Washington's decision to restore a harsh policy against Cuba, announced this Friday by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
“We reject decisions announced by the U.S. Secretary of State and misleading pretexts with which he tries to justify the unjustifiable,” the minister wrote on his account on X.
Cuba's top diplomat said that “like the measures of January 20, there is no support for the new gratuitous abuse of the Cuban people.”
“Hardening criminal measures against the Cuban people will cause greater shortages, separation and increased emigration,” said Bruno Rodríguez.
He stressed that this is "a new provocative act" by those who are taking back control of the Cuba issue, to promote irresponsible scenarios of confrontation with aims and results contrary to those proclaimed by the U.S. government itself.
