Buenos Aires, October 27 (RHC) -– A high-ranking Cuban military delegation paid a working visit to Argentina on Sunday aimed at strengthening bilateral relations with that country’s armed forces.
Army Corps General Joaquin Quintas Sola, who headed the delegation, told PL news agency that they went to have a first-hand look at some entities with the Argentinean military industry and in other sectors and that the visit was also to reciprocate a previous visit to Cuba last July by Argentinean Defense minister Agustin Rossi, who invited the Cuban military to visit his country.
General Joaquin Quintas, who has the title of Hero of the Republic of Cuba, was accompanied by captain Carlos A. Duque, colonels Raul Quitas, Armando Lopez and Francisco Martinez and Lieutenant Colonel Noslen Rojas.
The Cuban delegation described the visit as successful and fruitful given what they learned and the information they were given, said the Cuban general, who added that the officers who welcomed them were very friendly and open to give the information they needed. “ We are very pleased and satisfied,” said the general.
The Cuban high-ranking officer, also a deputy to the Cuban Parliament, reiterated his country’s support of what he called the fair Argentinean claim over the Malvinas Islands. He said “this is a crystal clear Cuban stance because we consider that those islands have been and must be Argentinean.”
