Riyadh, October 28 (RHC) -– The governments of Saudi Arabia and Cuba have pledged to further strengthen their relationship through the promotion of economic cooperation and political dialogue. This was agreed upon during a meeting in Riyadh between Deputy Cuban Foreign Minister Rogelio Sierra and his Saudi counterpart, Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Jandan.

The meeting was part of a bilateral consultation mechanism which convened for the fourth time and addressed issues of common concern, including current world affairs.

According to diplomatic sources, the session was held in the Foreign Affairs headquarters of the Wahabite kingdom and served to ratify the mutual will to continue developing friendly relations, particularly in the economic area.

During his stay in the Arabian kingdom, Sierra also met with the deputy minister of Foreign Affairs, Khaled bin Saud bin Khaled Al Saud, and held work sessions with the interim minister of Health, Mansour Al-Howasi.

He also spoke with Vicepresident and Managing Director of the Saudi Development Fund, Yousef Al-Bassam and with the president of the Chambers of Commerce, Abdulrahman Al Zamil.

The report further states that the Cuban official and accompanying diplomats talked with members of the royal family, as well as Cuban cooperators completing missions in Saudi Arabia.
