Havana, November 11 (RHC-PL) -- Specialists on information and communications technologies are attending today the opening of the 5th Event of Cuban Culture on Digital Media in an attempt to discuss the better use of these tools for social and educational purposes.

The event, organized by the website Cubarte and the Ministry of Culture, seeks to promote debate on the use of IT for the promotion of the national culture and idiosyncrasy.

As part of the event's agenda, the Pabellón Cuba cultural center will host until November 14th an academic cycle about production, promotion and socialization of digital contents.

Today's session will focus on the presentation of softwares that facilitate access to digital content, cultural contents in particular, through mobile devices, video games and digital television systems.

On November 12th, the event will celebrate the 21st anniversary of Cubarte, with the exhibition of products and services developed by this institution.

The best websites and cultural multimedia products in different categories will be granted the Palma Digital Prize during the closing session of the event.
