Madrid, December 17 (RHC)-- The book 'Brigadistas en Cuba', by Spanish author Luis Puicercús has been presented in Madrid. The text deals with the work carried out by several international brigades of solidarity with Cuba over the past several years.
In statements to Prensa Latina news agency, Cuban ambassador in Spain Eugenio Martínez termed the book as highly valuable, saying it contributes to broadening knowledge about this ever-growing modality of international support for Cuba, in which more than 100 thousand people from all over the world have got directly involved since the first solidarity brigade arrived in Cuba in 1970.
The book recounts the author's experiences having participated himself as a brigadista in three different contingents of the José Martí Solidarity Brigade of Voluntary Work. He says that visiting Cuba as a member of the brigade allowed him to learn first hand about the Cuban socialist system and the country's reality.
