Cienfuegos, January 26 (PL-RHC)-- Colombian writer Piedad Bonnett launched her book "Explicaciones No Pedidas" (Unrequested Explanations), which won the 2014 Jose Lezama Lima Poetry Award granted by Casa de las Americas to works published in previous years.

This was the first contact that Cuban readers have with poems that were published in late 2011 by Visor publishing house, after Bonnett won the Casa de las Americas Award in Hispanic-American poetry in Madrid.

The launching of the book took place in Cienfuegos as part of the events of the 56th edition of the Casa de Americas Award, as she is a member of the jury in the poetry section. The author told Prensa Latina that it was an honor to receive such an award by an institution presided over by Roberto Fernandez Retamar, a very close friend of Latin American poets.
