Symposium on Nuclear Physics in Cuba

Havana, January 29 (RHC-PL) -- A symposium to promote discussion, exchange and cooperation in the field of nuclear physics will take place in Cuba from February 9th to the 13th, and will be attended by experts from Latin America, Europe and Asia.

The Cuban scientific meeting, called WONP-NURT, deals with the peaceful application of nuclear science in various areas of society.

The event is organized by Cuba's Higher Institute of Applied Science and Technology (Instec) and the Center for Technological Applications and Nuclear Development (CEADEN), in coordination with the Agency for Nuclear Energy and Advanced Technologies (Aenta).

According to Dr. Yamiel Abreu, member of the organizing committee, experts from Russia, Germany, Italy, Belgium, France, Spain, Austria, South Korea, Peru, Panama, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela and Canada, as well as 100 experts from Cuba, have confirmed their attendance.

WONP-NURT 2015's program includes oral presentations and poster sessions. In addition, a series of conferences will take place on February 8th and 9th, ahead of the symposium.
