St. Petersburg, February 5 (PRNewswire) -– U.S. travel insurance providers are already offering coverage to those authorized to visit Cuba, according to travel insurance comparison site Squaremouth.

New to this group, is HCC Medical Insurance Services, who recently started selling insurance to U.S. residents traveling to Cuba.

"Travel medical protection from HCC Medical Insurance Services is now available for U.S. residents traveling to Cuba," said Juan Mas, Business Director at HCC. "Now, they can be protected while they visit the island, provided the traveler qualifies for travel authorized under U.S. Treasury's regulations."

The Cuban Government requires all visitors who enter the country to obtain a medical insurance policy. Of the 127 products on squaremouth.com, 43 offer Emergency Medical benefits for travelers who become unexpectedly ill or injured while in Cuba.

"If a traveler doesn't have medical insurance, or isn't covered by their insurance in Cuba, a travel insurance policy can act as their primary insurance while they are abroad," explains Megan Singh, Squaremouth Director of Marketing.

Squaremouth is an on-line company that compares travel insurance products from virtually every major travel insurance provider in the United States.
