Havana, March 19 (RHC) -- Canadian Ambassador to Cuba Yves Gagnon said Cuba's highly educated population is one of the main appeals for foreign investors today.
The ambassador told Prensa Latina news agency that the most specific and original element that the island presents in comparison with neighboring countries is high level of academic instruction, which "could favor strategic investments that capitalize on this potential."
Gagnon also said economic ties between Canada and Cuba should not undergo dramatic changes if Cuba-US diplomatic relations are reestablished, adding that the decision to invest will solely depend on companies.
Nowadays, Canada is Cuba's main source of tourists and the Canadian company Sherritt International has large investments in mining and hydrocarbons on the Caribbean island.
