Brazil's Lula Da Silva Urges Washington to End Blockade of Cuba

Sao Paulo, April 15 (RHC) -– Former Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva on Tuesday hailed the decision by U.S. President Barack Obama to take Cuba off the list of state sponsors of terrorism, and urged Washington to lift the economic blockade against Cuba.

Lula made the remarks during the National Congress of the Metal Workers Union (CUT) in in the city of Sao Paulo.

“There is no reason for the economic blockade on Cuba to exist, because there isn't a more honest people than that of Cuba,” Lula said when addressing participants at the event.
