Havana, April 24 (RHC) – Cuban Parliament President Esteban Lazo received on Thursday his counterpart from Guinea Bissau, Cipriano Cassama, who heads a parliamentary delegation on an official visit to Cuba.

Both leaders during the meeting highlighted the close friendship between Cuba and Guinea Bissau, expressing willingness to further deepen such ties.

Cassana also expressed his government's appreciation for Cuba's help in their independence struggles, and also voiced interest for the functioning of Cuba's legislative mechanism.

The Guinean parliament leader also hoped for the advancement of bilateral talks between the governments of Cuba and the United States, as well the end of Washington's economic blockade on Havana.
