Washington, May 22 (RHC) –- Cuba and the U.S. are scheduling another round of high-level talks over the next few weeks, according to both sides at a joint news conference Friday afternoon in the U.S. capital.

The announcement followed the third round of talks between the two sides in Washington D.C., previously scheduled for Thursday, but extended for one more session on Friday. Both delegations agreed to continue the exchanges on aspects related to the functioning of diplomatic missions, said an official statement of the Cuban delegation to the talks.

For their part, the U.S. delegation acknowledged that they have made progress in this latest meeting, however some issues still remain that need to be ironed out.

The upcoming talks will once again be led by two women: Josefina Vidal Ferreiro, general director of Cuba's U.S. Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Roberta Jacobson, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs.
