Guantanamo, August 3 (RHC) –- Young Cuban artists taking part at the 39th Festival of the Political Song demanded the return to their country of the territory illegally occupied by the U.S. Naval Base in Guantanamo.
During a tour of the Caimanera and Boqueron communities, bordering the U.S. military base, the artists spoke with area residents and demanded the return of that piece of land under illegal U.S. occupation for over a century now.
The Political Song Festival is the oldest cultural event of its kind organized by the Hermanos Saiz Association and on this 39th occasion it is dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the Casa de Las Americas magazine and the Frontera local group, which pioneered the movement of professional singers in this eastern province.
