Washington, September 16 (RHC)-- Social activists and members of solidarity with Cuba groups are gathering today in Washington, DC to demand the lifting of the unjust blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba.
The event -- “Days of Action Against the Blockade” –- was called by the International Committee for Peace, Justice and Dignity to the Peoples, Pastors for Peace and other groups. It will include various activities such as cultural and ecumenical events, photo exhibitions, documentaries, visits to the U.S. Congress to lobby congressional representatives and call for the elimination of the hostile policy.
Religious leaders, lawyers and trade unionists from Canada, the United States and Puerto Rico are participating in the event and will reaffirm their solidarity with Cuba and joy for the release of the Cuban Five, who suffered many years of unjust imprisonment in the United States.
