Namibian President Concludes Official Visit

Havana, September 17 (RHC)-- The President of the Republic of Namibia Hage Gottfried Geingob concluded on Thursday his official visit to Cuba, aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation ties.

During his stay, the African dignitary met with his Cuban counterpart, President Raúl Castro, and also toured several places of scientific and economic interest.

Speaking with reporters, the Namibian head of state said his country has a lot to learn from the Cuban experience and added that he has formally requested Cuba's assistance to improve his country's health care system.

Meanwhile, Cuban Health Minister Roberto Morales expressed Cuba's readiness and willingness to collaborate with Namibia in the framework of new cooperation accords signed between the health ministries of the two countries. Morales added that the new agreements give continuity to the work being developed by Cuban health collaborators in the African country.
