Havana, October 7 (RHC)-- The president of the Cuban Parliament International Relations Committee, Yolanda Ferrer, has met with members of the European Left Party Coalition, headed by its vice president, Maite Mola.
Accompanying Mola are representatives of the parties that make up that political coalition, such as the French Communist Party, the Communist Re-foundation Party of Italy and the Greek Zyriza.
Ferrer informed visitors about the update of the Cuban economic model, and basically its social aspects. She explained about the work of the National Assembly as the supreme organ of power of the Cuban State and the role of deputies in Cuban society.
Yolanda Ferrer also expressed her appreciation for the unconditional support by European leftist parties to the Cuban people, as well as their solidarity in issues such as the release of the Cuban Five and the struggle against the U.S. economic, commercial and financial blockade of Cuba.
Cuba was also represented at the meeting by deputies Lazaro Barredo and Antonio Hernandez, and by Omar Torres, an official of the Department of International Relations of the ANPP.
