Washington, December 1 (RHC) -– Cuba has reiterated its concerns over Washington's politicization of the migration issue. The issue was raised in the context of a new round of bilateral talks on the issue held Monday in Washington between high-ranking delegations from the United States and Cuba.

A statement issued by the Cuban delegation expresses Cuba's rejection of U.S. pieces of legislation that encourage illegal, unsafe migration flows of Cuban citizens to the United States.

It mentions, for instance, the so-called wet-foot dry-foot policy the Cuban Adjustment Act, under which Cuban immigrants are granted immediate admission into the U.S., regardless of the irregular routes they took to arrive there.

During Monday's talks the two sides agreed to hold regular technical meetings on migratory fraud and coast guard services between the two countries.
